Ascend
A habit and goal tracker built around one thing: the streak you do not want to break. Everything else on the screen is there to protect it.
Most habit apps lose you in the setup.
Categories, tags, points, badges, a shop. By the time the app is arranged you have spent your motivation on arranging it. Ascend has goals, the habits under them, and a streak. That is the whole model.
What it does
-
01
One streak per goal, not per habit
A day counts when the goal's habits are done. You get a current streak and a best, so the number you are protecting is the one that matters.
-
02
A year on one screen
Week, month and year views draw every day as a dot that fills as you complete habits, with a chain joining the days you kept. Patterns show up before you can explain them.
-
03
Challenges with room to miss
Pick habits, pick a number of days, keep a couple of cheat days. A challenge you cannot fail on one bad Tuesday is a challenge you might actually finish.
-
04
A buddy who sees the habit, not your life
Share individual habits with one person and you both get a shared streak from the days you each logged. They never see your goals, your other habits or your notes.
-
05
Widgets that already know the answer
Momentum, Challenge and Buddy on the home screen. They read a snapshot the app wrote, so they are right the moment you look and cost nothing to keep that way.
-
06
Streak freezes and backfill
Two freezes a month for the days life wins, and seven days to go back and tick something you forgot. Honest, bounded, and not a way to rewrite history.
Your data stays small.
Ascend has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. It stores your goals, habits and completions so they follow you between devices, and nothing about you that it does not need to do that. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.
